Scott Harper Presents at Professional Outdoor Media Association’s 12th Annual Business Conference

Harper & Bates LLP partner Scott Harper spoke at the Professional Outdoor Media Association’s (POMA) 12th Annual Business Conference on June 15, in Shreveport-Bossier, La. Harper’s presentation titled “Intellectual Property Field Guide,” focused on how to protect and enforce intellectual property rights in visual and written media. Harper was able to relate to a number of conference attendees, as his experience covers a wide range of technologies and applications including software/information technology, firearm accessories, athletic/sporting goods, product packaging, and wildlife/habitat consulting.

The annual POMA conference provides cutting-edge business sessions, networking and product testing opportunities to outdoor industry professionals. Attendees included professionals from Yamaha, the National Rifle Association, Ducks Unlimited and various outdoor media outlets.

Harper, a registered patent attorney, concentrates his practice on patent, trademark, and copyright matters. He also represents clients in litigating complex intellectual property disputes involving patents, trademarks and copyrights in federal and state courts across the country, as well as managing patent post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
